Abstract
The authors examined largest veins on the lateral surface of the cerebrum in eight cerebral hemispheres. They are charcterized with respect to largest to largest diameter, surface relationships and their anastomoses. Special emphases were made on
vein
of Labbe, vein of Trolard, superficial sylvian vein and their neurosurgical significances.
The anatomical informations about the superficial cerebral veins will be helpful for reducing the risk of postoperative venous infarction & neurologic deficit. The courses of the largest superficial cerebral veins were relatively constant and can
be
used as anatomcal landmarks.
